Snowbird Adaptive Sports

Embracing the Challenge!

Wasatch Adaptive Sports (www.wasatchadaptivesports.org), in it’s twenty-ninth season, is one of the premier ski and summer programs for children and adults with special needs. Programs offered include; ski lessons, snowshoe tours and sledge hockey throughout the winter, and numerous outdoor recreational activities such as hiking on barrier free trails, fishing, biking, tram rides and environmental awareness programs in the summer.

Our program works hand in hand with many schools, therapeutic recreation centers, children’s hospitals and rehabilitation centers throughout the state, providing much needed ski lessons and other outdoor recreational experiences. Most of our lessons are based on supportive scholarships.

The 22nd Annual Steve Young Ski Classic

The 22nd Annual Steve Young Ski Classic will bring an impressive group of NFL players, Olympians and Paralympians to Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort Saturday, March 29th, to ski and raise money for Wasatch Adaptive Sports programs.

Former San Francisco 49er Steve Young headlines a group of NFL players and Olympians who will be on hand skiing in a fun race against Wasatch Adaptive Sports participants in a dual giant slalom format on Snowbird’s Gad Valley Race Hill beginning at 10:00 a.m. There is no fee to watch this event, accessed from Snowbird’s Entry 1 or 2.

Presented by the Forever Young Foundation, Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort and American Airlines, the Steve Young Ski Classic includes an evening fund-raiser at the Cliff Lodge beginning at 6 p.m. with a silent auction and reception. Awards, dinner and the participant program begin at 7:30 p.m. followed by a live auction at 9 p.m. The live and silent auctions will include international vacations, ski packages and more. Many famous NFL players, Olympians and Paralympians will join Young for the event.

Wasatch Adaptive Sports, established in 1977 by Peter Mandler, is a non-profit, educational foundation providing outdoor recreational activities for children and adults with special needs. With a mission of “Reaching Out to Make a Difference,” Wasatch Adaptive Sports reaches 1,600 participants through its year-round programs.

The 22nd Annual Steve Young Ski Classic is sponsored by the Forever Young Foundation, Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort, American Airlines, Chase, John Bryne Family Foundation/Cirque Properties, Richard and Holly Lawson, Ballard Spar Andrews and Ingersol and many others.

All funds raised during the Steve Young Ski Classic directly benefit Wasatch Adaptive Sports. This event offers a thrilling opportunity to have fun, while promoting your company and supporting a very special program. We hope you will choose to support our program.
